Tap drips You turn it a bit tigher - Problem solved
After a few days it starts dripping again - You phone the rental agency to report -----and wait ...and wait
After a few days you are fed up - in the meantime you turn the tap tigher
Oops.... the tap cap breaks, water spills onto the table top.- You take a pliers and close it as tight as you can
You decide to fix it yourselve - you get a new washer fit it , but the pliers damaged the cover grip so you leave it of and close the tap with the pliers again ..while you wait for the rental agent Sounds familiar ...yes
Eventually they send out a plumber and he replace the tap
The you start hearing noises in the pipes --What now !!
The plumber is send again
After inspection he removes a rubber piece that was stuck in the pipe (got forced into the pipe by the excessive tighening of the tap.
Problem finally solved.
Cost of the execercise R650 - R950 (assuming that there is not secondary water damage)
With a preventative approach the taps will be serviced timeously and costed R1.50
