Prevention makes sense

  • Tap drips You turn it a bit tigher - Problem solved

  • After a few days it starts dripping again - You phone the rental agency to report -----and wait ...and wait

  • After a few days you are fed up - in the meantime you turn the tap tigher

  • Oops.... the tap cap breaks, water spills onto the table top.- You take a pliers and close it as tight as you can

  • You decide to fix it yourselve - you get a new washer fit it , but the pliers damaged the cover grip so you leave it of and close the tap with the pliers again ..while you wait for the rental agent Sounds familiar ...yes

  • Eventually they send out a plumber and he replace the tap

  • The you start hearing noises in the pipes --What now !!

  • The plumber is send again

  • After inspection he removes a rubber piece that was stuck in the pipe (got forced into the pipe by the excessive tighening of the tap.

  • Problem finally solved.

Cost of the execercise R650 - R950 (assuming that there is not secondary water damage)

With a preventative approach the taps will be serviced timeously and costed R1.50
